Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). A 26-week randomised, placebo-controlled trial in 412 participants with HIV used percent change in CT-measured visceral adipose tissue as its primary endpoint, with IGF-I and lipid levels among the secondary endpoints (Falutz et al., NEJM 2007).
